A prayer for a Psalm 46 Day.

Lord, the storms outside are ferocious this morning. The rain is coming down in sheets, the winds are brisk, and the lightning is spectacular.  It makes me want to pull up the covers and sleep until the storms pass.

Today’s outside weather is similar to the storms in my heart, mind, and soul.  Lord, so many, so much, is trying to drive me away from you.  I am under attack mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.  It feels like everything, everybody is attacking me, my faith, my life, my love for you.  It feels like Satan has all of his evil powers focused against me.

Lord, there are no earthly covers which I can pile over my heart to protect me from them and for you.  Lord, today I entrust myself to you.  Help me to be still, to know that you are God.  Help me to find my refuge and strength in you.

Lord, thank you for your gracious protection.  In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
